Are these Cookware Induction Compatible ?
Induction by principle works on cookware with iron base. So All our Cast iron and iron cookware does work on induction as well as on hot plates
Are Zishta Cast Iron Cookware Pre-seasoned
Cast iron cookware are seasoned using the traditional technique documented from various grand mothers. Having said that, we recommend one final step for the customers to do before first use: Wash the cookware really well, keep it in gas burner with two spoons of oil and fry an onion for 7-10 mins in medium flame. Discard the onions and the cookware is ready for use. Only reason we do not do this final step is because the cookware looks like an used one.
After cooking, we recommend that after you wash the cookware, wipe it clean off water and apply some cooking oil and store them. This will help in protecting the seasoning and prevent it from rusting.
How to prevent dosa from Sticking?
All Cast Iron and Iron cookware works best when their seasoning is not compromised. The best way to season them is to always apply oil and store. Before making dosa, please apply generous amount of oil on the tawa and then start making them. They will work as good as non-stick. Click here for a Video to see how to prevent the same
Do they rust?
Its natural property of Iron and Cast Iron cookware to rust if sufficient oil is not applied in the cooking surface. Please use regular cooking oil and apply a few drops after washing and wiping them dry of water particles.
