Black Pottery Tea Cups: Handcrafted Longpi cups that keep tea warm
Manipur Black Pottery Tea Cups are traditional tea cups made using Longpi pottery, a craft practiced in Manipur for generations. Locally known as “Loree Hamlei,” this pottery is not made from regular clay. It comes from a mix of crushed local rocks that are shaped by hand and fired using natural methods.
These handcrafted tea cups are simple in form, dark in color, and slightly textured. They are still used in everyday kitchens in Manipur. When used for tea, they hold heat well and add a mild earthy aroma that many people find comforting.
