You can use regular soap (diluted in Water) to clean clay cookware. Please do not use steel wire scrubs. Natural cleaning agents like ash powder or other natural soaps can also be used.

Depending on how frequently you use and how well they are maintained, clay cookware can last anywhere between 12 - 15 months. Due to repeated heating and cooling, clay will start to form cracks and once food starts burning, is the indication to replace the cookware.

Clay by nature is porous and the water sweats through the pores , evaporates and thereby provides the cooling effect. This is a natural process and its not leakage. Always place a plate or collection unit below to collect the sweat water.
