Black Pottery Hamlei: Handcrafted Gravy pot for slow, even cooking.

Hamlei is a traditional gravy pot made using Longpi pottery technique from Manipur. Locally called “Loree Hamlei,” this cookware is still used in everyday kitchens across the region. It is made by crushing and blending two types of locally found rocks, instead of regular clay.

This handcrafted gravy pot is designed for slow, even cooking. From dal to chicken curry, it helps bring out deeper flavours while keeping the food warm for longer. It works well on gas stoves and can also be used in microwave ovens.

Yes. It can be used in microwave ovens along with gas stoves.

3. Will food stick to the surface?
If used correctly and with proper heat control, sticking is minimal.

4. How is it different from regular clay pots?
