A Brass Spice Box, also know as Masala Box, is a traditional container, made of brass, with a set of small bowls within a larger one, used for storing and organizing spices.

This redesigned masala dabba has a tin lining to create a protective layer and a middle plate to separate whole spices and herbs, without mixing aromas - an upgrade inspired by real customer needs.

Indian Kitchens have long relied on brass storage containers for their ability to enhance longevity, maintain flavor intensity, and protect the natural properties of whole spices.

Product Highlights

  • Material: Pure Brass (Pital), an Alloy of Copper and Zinc.
  • Design: Round Box with 7 brass cups with tin coating to store spice powders (masalas), a middle plate to store red chilies, bay leaves etc and a lid. Each internal cup is thoughtfully sized for easy access while cooking, keeping your spices organized, aromatic, and kitchen ready.
  • Cup Capacity: 100-125 grams
  • Usage: Designed to store your everyday spice powders and herbs.
  • Care: Avoid harsh or abrasive detergents. After cleaning wipe it dry immediately to avoid marks on the utensil.

Why Choose a Brass Spice Box with Tin Coating

  • Handcrafted by Traditional Artisans - Made by Gujarat artisans, using age-old hammering and shaping techniques that ensure durability, authenticity, and long-term usability.
  • Tin Lining - The combination of handcrafted brass + food-safe tin lining creates a naturally protective environment that prevents flavor loss and supports the longevity of your spices.
  • Aesthetic, Functional & Heritage Driven - Perfect for modern and traditional kitchens - adds a timeless charm while serving as a practical cooking companion.
  • Keeps Your Spices Fresher for Longer - Brass naturally helps preserve the  anti-oxidant and flavor-rich elements of whole Indian spices. To know more benefits of Brass, read Key Benefits of Brassware.
  • Organized Storage for Everyday Cooking - Includes multiple small cups to neatly store jeera powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and more. The middle plate is for storing red chillies, bay leaves and other herbs.
  • Durable Heavy-Gauge Brass for Stability - Sturdy, long-lasting and designed for daily use, the masala dabba can be passed down as a family keepsake.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the middle plate help in daily cooking?
It keeps dried chillies, bay leaves, and whole spices separate, so you can add aromatics quickly without opening multiple containers.

2. Is this brass spice box suitable for storing fine spice powders?
Yes, the tin coating and snug lid help store even fine powders like cumin powder and garam masala safely.

3. Will the spice aromas mix inside the box?

6. Can this spice box be kept on the countertop?
Absolutely - its elegant brass finish makes it perfect for countertop display.
