  • Wash well before first use.
  • Zishta cast iron kadai is pre-seasoned with husk, heat and gingely oil. Even then, it is worthwhile to heat the kadai, pour a few spoons of oil, cut onion, fry it all over for 10 minutes in low flame and throw the onion away. If needed, repeat this process to remove the excess surface carbon. 
  • Wash it and it is ready to use.
  • Do not soak in water for long before wash.You can use wire scrubs for cleaning.
  • If the Kadai is not used for long, we recommend that you apply a coating of cooking oil and store it to prevent surface rusting.

    Cast iron kadai and Kalchatti

    I recd the products yesterday Followed instructions as mentioned .. smeared oil and fried onions .. did this twice .. washed thoroughly still the vegetable made turned black .. is this normal ? Also after use and washing well .. there are rust marks in the kadai . To be on the safe side i have smeared oil and kept .. Hope this works .. The skillet also has rust marks after use and wash . Is there a problem with the product received ? The treated kalchatti is good. .. food is warm and fresh for long ..

    Cast Iron has tendency to surface rust. Always post wash, wipe surface of any water and apply some cooking oil and store. This will protect the seasoning and prevent any rusting from happening. If there is any rusting that happens, just scrub the rust off with a mixture of oil and cooking salt, clean and apply some oil and store . Hope this helps.

    Medium cast iron kadai

    This kadai is very versatile. You can make a wide range of dishes for eg. Upma, Poha, and for deep frying it works very well. Very satisfied with this.

    Not in Even shape at the bottom

    Not able to place it on gas stove as the bottom of the kadai always slides to its left, so its shakes when placed on gas stove . This basic quality test should be performed before delivering to the customer.
    I have other iron kadai which are of less price than this and better

    Excellent quality

    Brought this Kadai recently, and extremely satisfied with the quality. The vegetables cooked in this tastes good and remains hot even after 3 hours. Disposed off all the non stick kadai which I had. would recommend to all my friends.
